Company Description (Baseline Information): The organization “Instituto de Directores de Moçambique” is a private non-profit organization, with financial, administrative and patrimonial autonomy, created with the objective to promote Corporate Governance in Mozambique. The Institute of Directors of Mozambique, IoDmz, represents directors, business leaders and other top executives in the hierarchy of companies and organizations in both the private and public sectors, as individuals who contribute significantly to the well being of the people and to the development of the Mozambican society.

Because directors hold a special position of leadership and trust, they are both legally and morally responsible for a balanced direction and for the promotion of transparency and accountability before their shareholders and the society, through good practices of Corporate Governance.

Objective: The objective of IFC’s advisory service is to help the establishment of the Institute of Directors of Mozambique (IODMoz), which will provide corporate governance training to Mozambique business men. Outputs: I) Strategic plan II) Marketing tools (Website and brochures) IIII) Sector workshop for 200 Directors. This project at IFC’s request received about 120.000 USD from Africa Development Bank which will enable the Institute to run its activities in short term., plus 5.800 USD from CIPE.
