How do we work?We value and are open to working in partnership with public and other private actors, NGOs, development agencies, and businesses who share our goals. Who funds us?Apart from the benefits from the development of our own projects, other sources of funding include donations, subsidies, grants, and sponsorships from devolpment agencies, private individuals, corporations, foundations, centers, associations, institutes and other NGOs. Our organizational struture:1). GDI is governed by a Board of five members, elected from associate members, staff members and individuals whose contribution have made a difference in advancing its goals. 2). The term of the Board members is four years and they may be re-elected. 3) The Board members are henceforth endowed with legal powers to represent the GDI, judicially and extra-judicially, acting on its behalf, for which they are individually and collectively held accountable. 4). The president of the Board is the President of the GDI and its Chief Executive who is charged with the management of its day-to-day affairs for which he/she is endowed with full legal and administrative powers to take contracts and sign all documents, receive funds, make deposits, and authorize payments, as well as appoint other executives necessary for the implementation of GDI programmes. What are the scrutiny mechanisms in place?1). GDI accounts and activities are subject to an audit by independent certified auditors whose report is made public on the first quarter following the end of the fiscal year. 2). Additionally, donors may demand any information or carry out a special audit on specific projects they may have particular interest in. |
